Norwich-Edward Joseph Riordan, age 84, of Norwich passed away on March 10, 2017 at Norwichtown Rehab. He was born in Hartford on November 8, 1932 to the late Edward and Josephine (Portelance) Riordan. He married his loving wife Patricia (Daley) Riordan on November 6, 1965 at St. Mary Church in Greenville. She predeceased him on Feb. 23, 1990.
Edward was a graduate of NFA class of 1950, and a US Navy veteran. He attended the New England College of Pharmacy and went on to be a pharmacy tech for Uncas Pharmacy for over 25 years,...

Norwich-Edward Joseph Riordan, age 84, of Norwich passed away on March 10, 2017 at Norwichtown Rehab. He was born in Hartford on November 8, 1932 to the late Edward and Josephine (Portelance) Riordan. He married his loving wife Patricia (Daley) Riordan on November 6, 1965 at St. Mary Church in Greenville. She predeceased him on Feb. 23, 1990.
Edward was a graduate of NFA class of 1950, and a US Navy veteran. He attended the New England College of Pharmacy and went on to be a pharmacy tech for Uncas Pharmacy for over 25 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the White Cross Council, a 4th degree honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Norwich Lodge of Elks, an usher at St. Patrick Cathedral for over 30 years, a board member of Project Independence, a member of the Jewett City VFW, a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, a member of the One Dime Club, and an avid Yankees fan.
He is survived by two sons Sean Riordan and Brian Riordan both of Norwich, a grand daughter Chelsea Riordan of Norwich and a sister Josephine Carbray of Hartford. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their extended families.
Family and friends may visit Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave, Norwich on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Cathedral on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
